Sports

Simplified model is used in the game to demonstrate how sport and physical exertion generally affect the body of a person suffering from type 1 diabetes. In reality, it is necessary to consult the physical regime with a doctor.

Sports helps to improve the physical condition of patients with diabetes. However, more attention should be paid to blood sugar level, which is decreasing during sports. People with diabetes type 1 should not exercise with blood glucose concetration > 15 mmol/l, the procedure is the same as for hyperglycemia, as well as for blood glucose concetration < 4 mmol/l, where the procedure is the same as for hypoglycemia.

Based on length of sport and actual levels of blood glucose, it is necessary to eat something before or after sport.
